THANK SO MUCH FOR PHOTOGRAPHING THE MURAL. THE SECREST BROTHERS, JIM AND PHIL AND MYSELF INSTALLED THE MURAL IN 1963 AFTER WINNING THE NATIONAL COMPETITION IN 1962. IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE BUT MY DESIGN WAS BASED ON ARCHILOGICAL FORMS WHICH WERE THE THEMES OF MY PAINTINGS AT THAT TIME. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO JUST EMAIL ME. AGAIN. THANKS. KURT"

"DEAR RICHARD
HERE IS WHAT I REMEMBER ABOUT THE COMPETITION. MIDTOWN PLAZA RAN THE COMPETITION IN 1961 OR 1962 WHICH WAS NATIONWIDE AND THE DESIGN THE THREE OF US SUBMITTED WON FIRST PLACE. IT WAS A COMBINED EFFORT. WE WON $10,000.00 AND DIVIDED THE PRIZE EQUALLY, SO I WOULD GIVE THE CREDIT OF THE DESIGN AND EXECUTION OF THE MURALTO THE THREE OF US. I THINK THE MURAL IDEA WAS VICTOR GRUENS AND ANGELO CHIARELLA WAS THE ARCHITECT WE MAINLY WORKED WITH. I WILL BE BACK IN CAPE COD NEXT WEEK SO CALL ME IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION. I WOULD LOVE TO TALK YOU ABOUT MIDTOWN. KURT"
