Description: Projectile, aimed toward the sky
Caption: The rocket-like projectile looks as if it has just landed, or is about to take off, according to Don Hall, Director of the Planetarium. Several artists were invited to submit proposals and Francesco Somaini was selected. Emil Muller donated the sculpture to the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
The sculpture shows the contrast between the polished and smooth surfaces which reflects the condition of man. It's a monument to human energy, but you can't forget that which remains to be done, the unfinished part...
