Caption: "The monument, dedicated to Captain Henry Lomb, patriot, pioneer manufacturer, educator and public benefactor, is 48 feet high. Funded by the families of Henry Lomb and John Bausch, it was unveiled on Memorial Day, May 30, 1930, with thousands of people participating.
... we give our pledge that this shaft of granite, here in the heart of our city, shall be to each of us throughout the years to come, a daily challenge and constant inspiration."
